The water-injected screw can work 24/7, yet it doesn’t produce sterile air—and it’s priced almost the same as dry scroll models.

Unlike the 24/7 models, the dry scroll can’t run nonstop—it has to work for tens of minutes, then shut down for tens of minutes to cool down.

But the upside is it can generate sterile air, and it’s priced about the same as the water-injected screw.

As for the rotary gear (also referred to as rotary tooth), it can work nonstop 24/7 and produce sterile air.

Also, it costs about twice as much as the scroll.
